Since 2005 Hatti Trading have been making a difference to stigmatised and disadvantaged young women in Nepal through Fair Trade employment in the production of beautifully made hand bags.
For the collection in which the house bag features, Hatti Trading worked with a wonderful organisation in Kathmandu which provides employment for women who otherwise can’t get work, including survivors of human trafficking and single mothers. They provide health benefits, child education, fair wages and good working environments, all under fair trade conditions and are dedicated to promoting women’s rights in a country where women are considered second class citizens. The house bag is hand made from felt, which is ultra strong, durable, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
