This product is supplied to Oxfam from Windhorse, a company who build on Buddhist principles valuing long-term relations with our suppliers and personal visits to ensure all of the products are produced under fair and decent conditions. The profit Windhorse makes is covenanted to a registered charity called The Windhorse Trust.
The money is then used to fund projects worldwide. Recent social projects include well digging in Kenya, funding schools in Guatemala, Bali and China, as well as helping with hurricane relief in Guatemala or earthquake relief in Java. This item was made in Bali from recycled materials, upcycling materials that would otherwise end up in landfill sites into desirable new accessories.
