Noah’s Ark is a Fair Trade handicraft marketing organization in Moradabad, India - established in 1986 by businessman Samuel Masih. It provides regular employment to 300 people and helps artisans to build and establish their own workshops - since the company’s inception, about 20 workshops have become independent.
Most of the producers are women, who benefit from the fact that they can work from home and maintain their responsibilities to their children. In addition to its work with craft-workers, Noah's Ark provides education classes for around 50 local children who do not have the opportunity to go to school. A social worker is also employed to support the wider needs of the employees, their families and communities. Noah’s Ark is a member of the WFTO and is committed to Fair Trade.
