Oxfam's River Basin programme covers Bangladesh and Nepal. It has been operating since 1999, supporting some of the most vulnerable communities to protect themselves in emergencies and reduce the impact of flooding on their livelihoods, especially vital in the face of climate change.
The money raised for this programme will be spent on raising homes and flood shelters, providing rescue boats, emergency kits and river-bank strengthening, amongst other activities to help communities cope with flooding.
