Located in Mombasa, Bombolulu Workshops for the Handicapped was founded in 1969 as a rehabilitation centre. The project has grown over the years and has four sheltered workshops supporting 160 physically disabled craftsmen and women.
Bombolulu assists in developing the skills and abilities of its workforce who come from all parts of Kenya, and it is now one of the biggest rehabilitation centres in Kenya. The workers have formed their own savings and loan co-operative and in 1993 Bombolulu introduced a medical aid scheme.
