Artisan Life was established in the UK with the purpose of promoting Colombian artisans and their craft by commercialising unique handcrafted jewellery and fashion accessories through leading distribution channels in the UK and other European markets. All of our products are sourced on a fair trade basis using natural and sustainable materials.
Recent ecological arguments have encouraged our suppliers to consider very carefully their sources of supply and obtain raw materials only from areas where an enlightened policy of environmental conservation is pursued. In Colombia, handicrafts continue to provide an important source of income, our range is beautifully hand made principally by women who are also the main providers of their households. Moreover, tagua is becoming increasingly important in the fashion and textile industries as the only natural alternative to mammal ivory, therefore preventing the slaughter of mammal ivory (elephants and other). Tagua is sustainably grown and eco-friendly, and provides a viable alternative to the depletion of rainforest for the farming of illicit crops.
