About this item

A superb example of slab work from the Studio of Rawson Pottery currently resident in the North Lakeland village of Caldbeck ( birthplace of John Peel)

This hand made 10 inch tall vase weighs in at over 2.3 kg as the walls of the vase are up to 3/8 of an inch thick.

The front of the vase bears a cartouche to the front as seen in the photographs impressed with three ears of wheat and with an unglazed textured finish.
The rest of the body is glazed in a reddy brown gloss finish with under colour of black.

Sticker to the bottom warning of the need for an internal water container if used as a vase for extended periods due to the nature of the clay and glazes used.
