Very rare Caughley (Salopian) egg drainer with chipped edge

£125.00

Product description

A lovely very rare Caughley (Salopian) egg drainer. Produced in Shropshire between 1779 and 1799 by Ambrose Gallimore and Thomas Turner in their Salopian pottery. Decorated in the "Fisherman/Pleasure boat" pattern. Marked on the base with the classic Salopian "S". The dish has a base pierced by 20 holes and has "twig" handles. Unfortunately the dish has a chip between the end of the handle and the rim but it is still a very nice collector piece.
