*1902 Coronation King Edward VII hand made Table cloth Hand Embroidered Hand Crochet White

£65.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

1902 Coronation King Edward VII hand made Table cloth.

This week as we celebrate The Queens official Birthday and wish her a happy 90th birthday we have developed a collection with this in mind.

From celebrating her coronation in the 1950’s we have a selection of vintage 1950’s iconic textiles which are uber stylish and ready to enhance your life.

This wonderful old textile has been hand made to celebrate the coronation of Edward VII and Queen Alexandra which took place in 1902.

The four corners of the cloth are hand embroidered with the Royal Crest and the common-wealth countries, as can be seen in the photographs, (June or in the opposite corner August). The stitch work is very high quality, as is the crochet lace.

This was a puzzled for a while, after a little research it was discovered the coronation should have happened on June 26th 1902 but the future king was unwell and required surgery. The actual coronation took place on August 9th.1902

The cloth is worked on Linen measuring 31" x 36" approx. and it is trimmed with hand crochet lace which is 5 1/2" wide.

The Linen does have a few light stains, but overall it is in good condition.

This is a one of a kind historic item and as such needs to be treasured
