Early 1900 s Pin cushion - Kewpie doll style / Pierrot - 14cm x 8cm

£29.99

Product description

Early 1900s large homemade pin cushion made with a cute faced Kewpie style composition doll with jointed arms. She is dressed as Pierrot and mounted on a 14 cm x 8 cm pin cushion, the black and pink are satin and the ruffle and hat are layers of gathered black net. The pin cushion is stuffed with wood chip and there are the odd spots of wood chip escaping. The doll has been secured by means of a wooden peg pushed up through the soles of the feet and extending down into the wood chip through a small hole in the satin. The pin cushion shows only minimum signs of use and both top and bottom are in very good condition with no damage. The fabric is dusty and faded from age, the doll is also dusty and has an urchin look now but she is showing thumbs up with her hands so she is obviously feeling confident that she will find a new home.
