Volunteer and make a difference

If you can spare just a few hours a week to volunteer for our online shop you could make a real contribution to Oxfam's work to end poverty. We rely on our fantastic volunteers listing from local shops around the country. And with over 22,000 volunteers already part of our shop network team, it's just like joining one big family of people who want to make a difference.

How do I get involved?

Take 5 minutes today to find your nearest listing shop and tell us how you want to help out:

  • find your nearest listing shop using our shop finder

  • enter your town or postcode and select "only show shops that sell online"

  • select your nearest listing shop

  • complete the short form in the "Volunteer with us" section

  • your local shop will receive an email and be in contact as soon as possible

Of course this is just one way you can get involved in Oxfam activities!

What does it involve?

Even though we operate as on Online shop, you don't have to be particularly web-savvy to be a volunteer. There are a range of jobs that you could do including:

  • Sorting the donations that we receive

  • Entering and uploading products online

  • Taking photographs of donated products

  • Online quality control checks on our listed products (home-based)

  • Posting out orders to our shoppers

Who volunteers?

Our Online Shop volunteer team is made up of a wonderful mix of people, with a huge range of interests and skills. The one thing we all share in common is an enthusiasm and willingness to do our best and help Oxfam alleviate poverty and suffering around the world.
