Volume CXIV, Number 2, dated August 1958. The magazine contains a variety of interesting items supported by numerous colour & b/w photographs and maps. The articles are: 'British Columbia: Life Begins at 100', 'Dogs Work for Man', 'How Old Is It?' (carbon-dating - its development and use), 'California Ranches in the Sea', and 'The Vibrant Heart of France' (Paris - an excellent collection of b/w photographs of the city and people, including Charles de Gaulle addressing the National Assembly on June 1, 1958, the meeting at which he was invested as head of the French Government). The cover has light dust-soiling, slight wear around edges and has rubbed and chipped corners and spine ends; some rust on the staples; inside pages are clean and bright. The advertisements of the time are particularly fascinating, including cars, airlines and cruises. An item of particular interest to collectors.
