Souvenir programme dated November 12 &13 November 1913 which comprises the programme of events for the two days, a detailed list of the stalls and many interesting advertisements by local firms. This is a bound volume with a picture of St James' church surrounded by ornate script and scroll work in gilt. Unfortunately the block is detached from the binding, but is well stitched together and would be easily restored.
Apart from slight foxing to the cover and moderate age toning to text block edges, the condition is surprisingly very good. All text, sepia photographs and illustrations are clear and attractive.
From Fletcher's, Market Place Grimsby "For Originality and Style in Furnishing" and David Smith, Art Furnisher and Manufacturer (Victoria Street) to "The Pianola Piano", the only genuine ones in Grimsby were at Holder Brothers Limited, apparently, and Albert Gait, Bookseller, Depot for Fancy Goods, the advertisements possess the distinct charm of yesteryear.
