The "Musikantenstadl" since 1981 is one of the most popular live shows in German speaking countries and is produced by the Austrian ORF in cooperation with Bayerischer Rundfunk and Swiss television. The program offers the probably most popular TV stage for folk music, both animate on the solo artists, bands, orchestras and choirs the audience clapping and swaying. For 24 years the "Musikantenstadl" was moderated by its founding father Karl Moik until 1991, supported by Erich Mathias "Hias" Mayer, who also gained great popularity with its comical interludes. Since 2006, pop singer Andy Borg performs the mission who was here previously regular music guest. The musical director of the show was responsible initially Wolfgang Lindner and his band and in 2005 was transferred to his son Wolfgang Lindner Jr... Another important feature of the show is the characteristic stage set is modeled with its many wooden elements of a large barn. The audience sits partly on classic ranks, but also partly to large beer tables, between which there is also a part of the musical performances. An attempt to rejuvenate the package "Stadl Show" with Alexander Mazza and Francine Jordi, became the Odds disaster. After an output and a "New Year's Stadl Show" From the long-lived series was announced.
