Salt & Gold 2009

£15.00

Product description

An adventure into the solar blasted heart of the world’s greatest desert. Follow a small band of British motorcyclists as they battle off-road through open desert, thousands of kilometers of ancient camel routes and long forgotten cities, crossing some of the most desolate terrain on the planet.
The team plan to reach the fabled salt mines of Taoudenni but with breakdowns, injuries, and a rebel uprising stacking the odds against them: the question is: can they succeed?

Why did we start Adventure-Spec? Because most of our lives were spent trying to ride in remote and beautiful places. the problem was, the equipment we used was always cobbled together from old motoX clothing, army surplus or DIY efforts and frankly it was rubbish. Enter Adventure-Spec Ltd.

After a few years of working hard building the business we thought there would be no better way to check the equipment and clothing we had created than by a little product testing mission.

We found a goal previously unattempted by independent riders in a part of world normally unridden. We mixed that up with ancient desert camel trading routes, mythical cities, timeless anthopology, and good dose of some of the best, most remote desert riding in the world. We gathered a group of friends, planned for a year or so and went for it.

As an afterthought we decided to make a HD film and invited along Austin Vince, and after the 5500km we rode we're rather glad we did...
