Bach Organ Recital Karl Richter Decca Stereo ffss LP SXL 2219 Karl Richter - SXL 2219

£15.00

Product description

Bach: Organ Recital by Karl Richter at the organ of the Victoria Hall, Geneva. Decca Stereo ffss LP SXL 2219. Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Fantasia and Fugue in G minor, Prelude and Fugue in E minor and Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor. This record was issued with the wrong works listed on the front sleeve, hence the erratum slip whose remains are on this cover, dated 6/60 on the back. There's an audible tape edit on the G minor fantasia and possibly a wrong note in the right hand of the Tocatta and a slip of the foot in the G minor Fugue. Unusual for Karl Richter and for Decca! Disc is Wide Band Grooved ED1. Surface is generally very quiet but there are occasional moderate clicks (including a 3 groove scratch) but no jumps. Some distortionin the last 30 seconds of side one.
Sleeve EX- with several thumb creases but the lamination is complete. Early scalloped/halfmoon flipback. No spine. Original stiff paper and poly inner. A really interesting item!
