Jackie Oates is an English folk singer and fiddle player. She was born in Congleton in Cheshire in 1983, but grew up in Staffordshire. She was a member of Rachel Unthank and the Winterset between 2003 and 2007. She was also a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk award in 2003 and was one of the nominees for the Horizon Award in 2008, going on to win that award in 2009.
This is Jackie Oates' self titled debut album, recorded and produced by Phil Beer. The album comprises traditional English ballads, songs and tunes, and features some of the finest traditional musicians from Devon and beyond.
