"La Boheme" is one of Giacomo Puccini's (1858-1924) best-loved operas, a lovely uplifting tale, love between Rodolfo, the down-at-heel, bohemian poet - sharing his flat with four other equally down-at-heel artists - who lives in a Parisian suburb, and a poor seamstress, called Mimi. The four-act synopsis, follows the varied fortunes of the couple, as they seek their way in life ...

Incidentally, if you want a visual treat, try to get hold of the tenderly-filmed, 1992 movie version of "La Boheme", made in black-and-white.
