A well-loved comedian, pianist and conductor, from the Forties, all the way to the late Nineties, Victor Borge was born in Denmark, in 1909, but fled his birth-nation, in 1940, when Germany invaded.
His act - perfected in the US - consisted, typically, of a mixture of : spoken-word comedy ; launching into seemingly-serious recitals of classical pieces, before either, being comedically-distracted, or, suddenly launching comedically, into jazz numbers.
