Nick Lowe - Quiet Please...The New Best of Nick Lowe Nick Lowe

£9.99

Product description

Quiet Please... is a 49 track, career spanning 2 CD set plus a limited edition DVD including live footage and rarely seen original videos. The DVD will be of particular interest to fans as it includes a complete live concert from 2007 and 9 original videos from the 70s/80s.

Thirty three and a third years separate the first and last tracks of this swinging anthology - a third of a century no less, during which time Nick Lowe has evolved from earnest pub rocking prefect into groovy old boy with jazz quiff and relaxed vocal. Although he attends the occasional reunion, Lowe can no longer be found boogieing behind the bike sheds. Today, he resides in the uppermost reaches of the school’s songwriter wing and shares the dorm with few.

Starting with Brinsley's version of Nick's classic "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love And Understanding" through to cuts from 2008's At My Age, this is the only Nick Lowe "Best Of" in the marketplace. Inevitably there will be some people's favourites not present but we have decided to concentrate on songs that were written wholly or in part by Nick himself and have left covers to perhaps another time.

This set is compiled and produced by acknowledged expert Gregg Geller in coordination with Nick; Will Birch has supplied booklet notes along with a producer's note from Geller.
