Nocturnes vol.2 - Frederic Chopin (Nocturnes composed during his self-realization era - ECS 679)

£5.99

Product description

( performed by pianist Peter Katin , in the late fifties )

The period of Frederic Chopin's (1810 - 49) visit to Majorca with George Sand in the winter of 1838 marked a turning point in his career. His recovery from that ordeal during the summer of 1839 ushered in the era of complete self-realization, and the seven years of tranquility leading to 1846 brought with them the rich harvest of his finest works.

With his Nocturnes, the early naivete gave way to more concentrated, intense modes of expression. Indeed, every luxury of the piano, and every refinement of harmony was exploited in the artist's conscious attempt to create a world of unreal beauty...imaginary spaces of the poet's imagination.
