A Musical Setting Adapted & Narrated by Spike Milligan with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ed Welch.

Paul Gallico's original story was adapted for this recording by Spike Milligan in Australia 1976.

The music for this work as written by Ed Welch who also orchestrated it, and Spike Milligan. Contributions were made by Harry Edgington (Marshland Theme) and Alan Clare (Walking by the Sea). The main characters in the story are identified by their own theme and these themes appear as follows:

PART 1: The Marshland Theme (composed by Edgington) -- Rhayader's Them (composed by Milligan and Welch) -- Snow Goose Theme (composed by Welch) -- Fritha's Theme (composed by Welch) -- The Goose Walk (composed by Welch) -- Walking By The Sea (composed by Clare, Crombie and Milligan).

PART 2: The Lonely Man (composed by Welch) -- Goose Conversations (composed by Welch) -- "Sailing" (composed by Milligan).

Fritha's singing is performed by Elenor Keenan and Fritha's voice is performed by Ludmila Nova. The other singers are Graham Bonnet and Victy Silva.

Vinyl disc and sleeve are both in excellent condition.
