Piano Concertos 21 & 22 - Mozart ("flawless exmples of musical form" - SXLP 30124)

£5.99

Product description

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-91), may have composed two flawless examples of musical form, with these two Piano Concertos, loaded with beauty and deep feeling, but the manner in which they were composed (- in common with many of the Austrian's concertos -), was anything but serene ...

Indeed, Amadeus had all manner of pre-occupations in his life, and on his mind, at the time (1785/86) of these works' compositions : His father Leopold's ageing, and consequent display of bodily- and mental-strain ; the continual struggle to earn a daily living in Vienna, as a musician ; constant deadlines to meet ; and overlapping compositions.

Side One : Piano Concerto No.21 in C major K.467 :-
1) I Allegro maestoso (Cadenza arr. Busoni) 2) II Andante 3) III Allegro vivace assai (Cadenza arr. Busoni).
Side Two : Piano Concerto No.22 in E flat major K.482 :-
1) I Allegro (Cadenza arr. Hummel) 2) II Andante 3) III Allegro- Andantino cantabile - Allegro.

Records graded visually to RRPG grades (record/sleeve) EX/EX-.
