1983 LP on Familiar Records, FAM 43
Folk rock from the English band featuring Ian Blake, Rosie Cross, Mark Emerson and Bill Martin playing a wide range of instruments, from bassoons, hammered dulcimers, clarinets and keyboards to mandolas, recorders and guitars. Includes their jazzy version of the fairy ballad Tam Lin, famous from its Fairport Convention interpretation. The cover is taken from a Max Ernst painting. The music takes in Breton, Belgian, Italian and American as well as English influences. Folk maverick Andrew Cronshaw acted as co-producer with the band.
