Gypsy musical styles, all over Europe, are a blend of their Indian origins - over 1000 years ago -, and the styles and trends of the host populations. This includes the Russian Gypsy Songs performed on this album, part of a distinct new trend which began in the nineteenth century. Some nice, accompanying lyrical notes, are printed on the reverse, below each song title.
