Hexham is a market town in Northumberland. It has many historic buildings (such as the Abbey dating from 674), a beautiful park and a recently constructed swimming pool and leisure centre. Market Day is Tuesday and there is a Farmers' Market on the second Saturday of the month. There is easy access to Hadrian's Wall and Roman sites such as Chesters, Housesteads and the Temple of Mithras at Carrawburgh. Our book shop is centrally located and we sell a wide range of books, CDs and DVDs. We have a reading room (with feature, but unused, fireplace) where you can sit and relax while choosing your books.
