Not even Oxfam's emergency experts can tell when the next disaster will strike. But one thing’s for sure – they’ll be ready. Shelter kits are always in demand. So wherever the crisis – whatever the weather – this gift will make sure a family has a roof over their head.
On 26 June 2009, Cyclone Yemyin struck Balochistan province in Pakistan. It brought rain, flash flooding and winds up to 80 mph. An estimated 377,400 people were forced from their homes.
Oxfam and partner organisations were able to reach 35,000 people with emergency shelter kits, as well as drinking water and essential hygiene, cooking and food items.
