This gift in action

Ethiopia is famous for its fantastic coffee beans. But farmers in the Oromiya region just weren't getting a fair price for their produce… that's where Oxfam comes in.

Oxfam helped coffee farmers earn more from their beans by giving them the training and materials they need to upscale their production, plus the marketing skills to get a better price for their produce. As well as seedlings and tools, Oxfam helped them gain organic certification. And that means they get a better price for their produce.

Oxfam has also helped farmers form cooperatives, which increases their bargaining power. Women play a big part in running the cooperatives and taking part in decision-making, which improves their social status and gives them more power in their work and home lives.

Brilliant coffee that's changing lives.
