About this item

In an emergency, response time is crucial. This gift will help get Oxfam experts and materials to where they’re needed – fast. By providing things like taps, toilets and soap in the aftermath of a disaster, diseases can be prevented and thousands of lives can be saved.

Delivery & returns

All gifts are sent by 1st class post within 3 working days of when you place your order.  An optional delivery contribution of £1.70  per order for deliveries within the UK will be suggested during checkout, to help us cover costs. You can pay the suggested amount, increase or decrease your contribution, or pay nothing at all. You choose.

If you're in a hurry you can also send a gift E-card, at no extra cost, which will be sent as soon as you place your order. 

Please note that Oxfam Unwrapped gifts count as a donation, so our no quibble returns policy does not apply, and under Charity Commission rules, we are unable to give you a refund.

The devastating floods that hit Pakistan in summer 2010 killed many hundreds of people and left two million more homeless.

Thanks to already having teams working with poor communities on ongoing projects in some of the worst hit areas, Oxfam was able to respond immediately.

We swung into action to provide clean water, taps, toilets and hygiene kits – essentials required to keep people safe – to families that had lost everything, including their homes.

In any emergency camp, keeping clean can be a matter of life and death. In Sajawal, Sindh province, Oxfam distributed health and hygiene kits to tens of thousands of people made homeless by the flood waters, along with providing health and hygiene sessions for women and children.

These hygiene kits were made up of buckets, water purification tablets and soap, and according to one woman community health worker: "Even though no one asked what we needed, for us everything in the kit was useful, nothing was nonessential. We used everything."
