Autoparts

Product description

This curious little publication, of accordion folded paper, contains 13 B/W offset lithograph images of car parts and other items vehicle-related. We have no information as to its inspiration or aim, but it is interesting both for its rarity and its totally different style compared to the rest of the artist's work.

Carol Newsom is the wife of Tom Newsom (b.1944), and lives in Colorado, USA. Their two sons are also artists, and the family business is the sale of artworks (not including 'Autoparts', copyright of which remains with the artist).

The 'book' is contained within a sage-green folded card cover with a B/W illustration and title on the front. The back cover is slightly marred by the remains of an old price sticker, at the top L/H corner, but otherwise there are no signs of wear apart from some very slight fading at the edges. Inside, the illustrations (helpfully listed on the front flap of the cover) are printed singly on the folds of a long, accordion-folded, piece of creamy paper, the leading edge being very slightly creased at top and bottom (see photo) 4.
