UK, 1725. Hardback. Book Condition: Very Good. Pages 649-751. Hardback with marbled boards and quarter-binding in dark maroon leather in very good condition, but front board is detached and back board is working slightly loose. This extract has been rebound at a later date. Boards have minor rubbing as well. Text block in very good plus condition for a book of this age, with light tanning and foxing; last few pages have heavier tanning. A few annotations in black ink by previous owner and "From Cox's Magna Britannia, 1725" in the same hand on page after flyleaf. Comprising the entire section on the County of Essex, extracted from the complete work by Thomas Cox and hence lacks title page. Illustrated by folding map of Essex by Robert Morden at beginning of text. Contains a few illustrations of coins and crests and a table of the various hundreds as an appendix listing valuation, incumbent, patron and seats. Size: 18 x 23 Cm
