£14.99

Product description

Subtitled "A Treatise dealing with the Contstruction, Design and Manufacture of various types of Domestic Furniture; Panelling, Fireplaces and Church Work; with chapters on Setting Out Practice, Perspective, Coloured and Wash Drawings, and Practical Geometry; Shaping, Forming, and Veneering Processes; Automatic Actions; Veneers and Hand-veneering Processes; Inlaying and Marquetry. Illustrated by upwards of 2,000 Explanatory Drawings, in black and white, wash and colour, together with Photographs of Examples." Hard back edition bound in smoky blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Although the corners and spine ends are slightly bumped, with light wear, and the text block edges are lightly foxed, the block is tight. Occasional pages have light foxing marks but all text is clear and the book is very well illustrated; there are numerous double-page, colour and b/w photographic plates, crisp diagrams and tables to enhance the text. A fascinating and visually delightful book, in very good condition, which typifies the style of the early 1950s.
