Vol 1: 16mo., [xxxi] 216 pp. with 12 b/w photographs and a fold-out Bird-song Calendar for Great Britain, Introduction by Julian Huxley; includes Programme for Records 1 and 2, no D/J; Vol 2: 16mo., [viii] 104 pp. with 28 b/w photographs; includes Programme for records 3, 4 and 5, no D/J. Set of 5 shellac, 78 rpm records in original paper sleeves and cardboard shipping/storage box. Book condition: Good, spine of Vol 1 sunned, covers of both volumes rubbed but bindings tight and all illustrations present. Records have not been played but do not appear to have any surface wear or scratches. A rare collection of the pioneering outside recordings of birdsong, made in 1936 by Ludwig Koch, with text by E. M. Nicholson.
