The Last Habsburg

£9.99

Product description

This book is in good condition. The dust sleeve has been laminated and exhibits a moderate amount of age-related wear on the rear. The pages are in good condition, with slight wear visible on certain edges. There is a slight crease visible on pages sixty-two through to sixty-eight. The top of the pages are dyed red, in what appears to be a part of the design. There is no other tearing, staining or creasing on any of the pages, and no damage to the spine and binding.

The collapse of the Austro-Hungarian empire in 1918 was one of the twentieth century's defining moments, and in this meticulously researched book, Gordon Brook-Shepherd provides a fascinating insight into the House of Habsburg and those who defined its history. Making use of previously unpublished material at Windsor Castle, the Vienna archives, the Beaverbrook Library of Lloyd George's papers, and Cabinet and Foreign Office records, Brook-Shepherd has created a defining portrait of the final Habsburg Emperor, as well as the old order that fell in ruins at the end of the First World War.

A thoroughly worthwhile purchase for those interested in European and royal history!
