Insectivorous Plants by Charles Darwin, second edition from 1888

£50.00

About this item

Book Description: John Murray, London, 1888. Green Cloth. Book Condition: Fair. 2nd Edition. 5" x 7 1/2". In his Preface to this second edition, Francis Darwin says ."Misprints, errors in numbers, etc. have been set right, and a few verbal corrections have been taken from Charles Darwin's copy of the First Edition. Otherwise the text remains unchanged." Green cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Unfortunately the covers have been badly water marked both front and back (less on the spine). The pages, however, have escaped damage and are just slightly browned. The first 2 chapters have a few biro underlinings and lines in the margin. Illustrated with small line drawings. The binding is tight and straight but with a crack between the front endpaper and the half title.
