About this item

Antique Collectors' Club, 1982. Green Cloth + Gilt Lettering. Book Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Reprint of 1918 Edition. 9 " x 12".

This is one of Gertrude Jekyll's last books which she wrote as a discussion of garden ornament in relation to architecture. With her characteristic candour and experience she made good use of the excellent collection of photographs available from Country Life to show what should or should not be done. The dust jacket is lightly bumped at the extremities with some surface wear and creasing but is not price-clipped.The binding is slightly loose after the introductory chapter where one page is buckled and the top inch of two pages is lightly stained. There is a small amount of foxing on the top cut edges but the pages and text are clean and unmarked. Weighs nearly 2 1/2 kg.
