Charles Griffin, the Strand London 1897. Third edition.
The preface to this book reads: "A complete course of Ambulance Instruction, arranged as the experience of neary a decade as Lecturer and Examiner has shown me to be best, will be found in these pages. The Manual is intended to serve not only for class use, but also as a means of reference in Emergency cases, and for those using the small text-books." There are many drawings and photographs to illustrate this book. 214 pp of text and index plus a 52 pp catalogue of scientific and technical works published by Charles Griffin.
Cover is dark red hardback with gilt titles on front and spine. There is a little bumping and rubbing to the spine but otherwise in very good condition given its age. Internally there is a little foxing on the title page and on the tissue covering the first illustration facing the title page. A former owner has written his name and address on the second page in pencil but there is also a stamp on the same page by a different previous owner.
