These two covers are window envelopes with a return address on their back flaps for The Spastics Society (renamed in 1994 as Scope). One address is in Liverpool whilst the other is in London but both covers have a Liverpool “First Day of Issue” postmark.
The Liverpool cover bears the 17p stamp (SG1317) from the Post Office’s 21 April 1986 issue celebrating the 60th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II and the postmark is dated 21 Apr 1986. The cover was sealed but has been opened and the flap is very slightly torn.
The London cover bears the 15½p (SG1183) stamp from the Post Office’s Europa – British Theatre issue and the post mark is dated 28 Apr 1982. The cover was sealed but has been opened and the flap is slightly torn.
