Vintage Spear's junior Scrabble board game, probably from the 1960s, in original box and probably with all tiles present (see Contents below). Comprises two games, played on opposite sides of the board, one for children from about six to eight (blue background), the other for older children aged eight to ten (buff background). With yellow cardboard letter tiles, red plastic counters & dice. Rules on underside of box lid.
Made in England by the Production and Marketing Company of the USA, copyright 1958 and 1959, for Spear's. Board copyright 1958.

Board (double-sided) measuring 14 x 14 inches with 2cm squares
100 yellow letter tiles, probably all present, 1 inch square
28 red plastic counters
1 red dice (part of original ?)
The box has corner wear with one split, sides and top better, underside clean. The board is in good condition, with no splits or significant damage (a few very minor marks and spots, would not affect play). Tiles good, all used but clean. Counters unaffected by age.
