Gorgeous, rare Jim Thompson scarf, thought to be vintage.
Jim Thompson founded the Thai Silk Company in 1948 and devoted himself to revitalizing the Thai silk industry in the 1950's and 1960's before his disappearance.
Lively geometric print in mauve, pistachio, vibrant pink and gold. This scarf bears all the hallmarks associated with Thai silk, bright jewel tones and dramatic colour combinations.
Made from what an informed estimate tells us is Thai silk, in a plain weave, quite crisp with rolled edges.
Excellent vintage condition considering its age. It appears to have been washed, meaning that there are some creases within the scarf which have not relaxed by steaming alone. Perhaps a professional dry cleaner may be able to relax these with care.
