Vintage 1980's Beth Brett Size M Beige jacket with Leather cameo

£34.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

As the seasons blend together but there is still a chill in the air transitional pieces become an essential part of your wardrobe and no more so than with outerwear. Oxfam Online have selected some bright coats and some light coats to help keep you going until summer arrives.

This is a stylish 1980's beige linen feel jacket from designer Beth Brett.

It is a simple wide shape, is collarless and fastens with concealed buttons. It has a peach coloured lining, and the sleeves are rolled up to expose this, in typical 80's style. There are two pockets on the front and the broad shoulders have shoulder pads. The standout decoration of this jacket is it's cameo style brooch. Gold leather forms the outer frame then a layer of fabric and the face is almost certainly hand painted onto suede. A gold coloured chain hangs in loops below it, and two brooch pins secure it to the jacket.

The jacket itself is fairly understated, it is the leather cameo creates the spectacular focus here.

Beth Brett's work is archived in the Fashion and Textile department of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
