Vintage 80's/90's, JC De Castelbajac, size M red postmodernist coat

£275.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

This extraordinary coat is a truly amazing Oxfam find, a vintage piece from the 80's or 90's by JC De Castelbajac.

The pattern epitomises the postmodernism which was seen in fashion, art and design from the 1970's - 90's and was a dominant look of the ‘designer decade’. Vivid colour, theatricality and exaggeration were key, and everything was a style statement.

This striking red coat has a contrasting yellow collar, patch pockets and black buttons to fasten. Yellow elbow patches depict faces but the design on the back is the real star. Appliqued and embroidered , it covers the entire back with the words "Graphic Heroes' emblazoned across the shoulder blades.

A postmodern classic and a piece of fashion history.

Garment measurements
Bust 50"
Length 38"
Inside sleeve 16"

There is a little hole in the lining at the centre of the back, but this cannot be seen when worn.
This oversized loose fitting coat is almost one size fits all. It comfortably fits a size 18, although the sleeves then become bracelet length.
