Between pastel coloured sheep, the 'Pixie in the woods' stewarding position and a spectacular location, Latitude is a unique and colourful festival. Set in a beautiful country park with a relaxed family friendly feel to it. The crowd is around 25,000 laid back, lovely people and you can expect a fairly small site with an arena that's easy to get around, separated from the camping by a picturesque lake and a natural barrier of woodland containing two magical dance stages.
As the personal project of Melvin Benn, chief of Festival Republic, its focus is on literature, theatre and poetry, as well as music. Although there's not as much emphasis on music as at other festivals, there's still plenty to see and dance to. Latitude is also one of the "greener" UK festivals, actively working towards sustainable travel, energy, waste and water initiatives. Latitude is still growing and is building a loyal following. It is one of the friendliest festival crowds to steward and if you have time, a day trip to the nearby seaside is highly
recommended.
