  • Tracking bands – these allow you to get nifty time breakdowns as soon as you cross the finish line and for your friends and family to track you live online during the event.
  • ‘The Blister Pack’ on their way to a 28hrs 35mins finish in 2012, slightly behind the average Gold finishing of 27hrs 02 mins.
  • The Trailtrekker course starts with a gentle 10km stage to Gargrave along the ‘Leeds and Liverpool’ canal – perfect for warming up those legs!
  • Team ‘Keep calm and carry on’ proving their name is excellent advice for Trailtrekker – by finishing as a four, something that just 35% of teams managed in 2012.
  • There are nine organised stops on the course where you get a very warm welcome, first aid (if you need it!) snacks, massage, meals and loads of encouragement.
  • Malham Cove, the well-known beauty spot in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is reached after 20km and is just one of the stunning sights taken in along the route.
  • Climbing the 400 steps of Malham Cove was especially hard work in the 28°c temperatures of 2012. The weather has always been fantastic in Trailtrekker’s 5 year history.
  • Descending down into Horton in Ribblesdale and Checkpoint (CP) 2 – the end of the Bronze challenge after 40km, and around 10 hours, out on the course.
  • Frozen Calypsos await team ‘TEA BAGS’ from a member of their support crew. One role of the support crew is to keep your team’s motivation up – think this worked!
  • Every team must have a support crew unless they are part of the Full Support Package. They provide supplies and encouragement at designated stops on the course.
  • There are 3 challenges to choose from - Bronze (40km), Silver (65km) or Gold (100km). All start from Skipton but finish at different points along the course.
  • Over 60 medical staff are involved with the event including 20 members of Mountain Rescue.
  • The route is incredibly well sign posted. Here, in the early evening light, a rest stop awaits teams after 50km providing refreshments and time to recoup.
  • More than 300 volunteers and Marshalls are in action over the event weekend to take care of you and ensure all you have to do is focus on that finish line!
  • The day may be over but that doesn’t mean you, or your support crew get the same luxury – unless you’re aiming for Silver (65km) when you’ll finish here at CP3.
  • Massage is available at CP3, CP4 and the finish line. These skilled sports professionals have all the experience, techniques and advice to keep you moving.
  • Teams emerge from the food tent at CP3 after enjoying the delicious, warm and nourishing event meal served after 65km. Ready for the night shift!
  • Teamwork is at the heart of the Trailtrekker experience – working together to keep each other moving through the dark forms unbreakable bonds.
  • Trekking into the night is a beautiful, surreal and mentally challenging time of Trailtrekker. Time passes far more quickly than you’d expect, and soon – dawn, and the finish!
  • Glowsticks mark the way through the night section to help keep teams keep going in the right direction as it gets darker.

  • Dawn. 34km to go. Daylight boosts spirits, renews belief and spurs you onto the finish line. It’s an incredible part of the Gold (100km) experience.
  • Walking into Sunday, this team are joined by a relative to keep them company. This is highly recommended to give your team a bit of cheer (not to mention a break from their bags).
  • The gold finish line! We’ll have music, food, drinks, deckchairs and entertainment waiting for you, all creating a superb atmosphere.
  • You’ve done it! The sense of achievement from completing Trailtrekker, whatever your chosen distance, will stay with you for life.

  • The joy of crossing the line with your friends as the crowd cheers you on is hard to beat, and what’s more you can rest assured you’ve earned every penny you’ve raised.
