Voices against violence Protect Bolivia's Women

We are working with young people in Bolivia, to help them change the attitudes and behaviour towards women and gender-based violence.

In Bolivia, 7 out of 10 women have been victims of violence. But despite new laws, these crimes are continuing to escalate, especially among the younger generation.

We have an exciting new project supporting young people in Bolivia who are speaking out and challenging the social norms that perpetuate violence against women. We are working with youth groups like Young Drummers from Santa Cruz, skateboarding and hip hop groups.

Jessica, pictured above, is a survivor of domestic violence and is promoting a life free from violence through her hip hop.

Before hip hop, I had no way to convey to other people that I too have rights and deserve respect. But with my group, I feel strong and safe to inspire other young people.

Thank you for helping us give people like Jessica a voice.

There is a small chance that we will raise more money than is needed for this project. If this happens, we'll spend any additional funds on other Oxfam projects - wherever the need is greatest.
