Kate Lea, Education Manager
Kate leads Oxfam GB’s schools programme and has over 25 years’ experience in education, specialising in global citizenship education, Philosophy for Children and school linking. She has expertise as a teacher, as a writer and editor of educational resources, and as a teacher trainer. Her current role includes a focus on international and UK education partnerships.
John McLaverty, Youth Campaigner
Before joining Oxfam, John was Head of Humanities at an inner London secondary school. He now supports young people to apply their learning, creativity and passion to ca and training engaging volunteer speakers across England, Scotland and Wales. Sophie Morbey, Youth Campaigner
Sophie joined Oxfam because she believes in the power of people to create the change they wish to see. She manages the Oxfam Student Activist Network, comprising university groups, activists and campaigners across the UK who take action to make the world a better place. Liz Newbon, Education Adviser
Liz has varied experience of teaching and youth work, across five continents. She is passionate about inspiring young people to learn about, respect and act for each other and the world around them. Liz manages Oxfam’s education resources, using her expertise in writing learning materials, and supporting teachers to deliver quality global citizenship education.
