Don't let the mud and grey skies get you down. Oxfam Originals, in Manchester's Northern Quarter, is here to help.
With July beating June in the soggy stakes, and the summer festivals turning to mud baths, it is time for a rethink on this summer's wardrobe. So out with the maxi dresses and sandals, and in with macs, shorts and wellies. Oxfam Originals, in Manchester's hip Northern Quarter, have a fabulous selection to suit all weathers and occasions. The hand-selected range of vintage gems and designer labels features this summer's essential pleats, prints and colours, plus the ever necessary raincoats for men and women.
And for your prom or summer wedding, you will be sure to steal the show in the beautiful and timeless elegance of a sweeping 1970s dress or a sharp designer number. The men's range also features a fantastic selection of designer and vintage evening suits, bowties, cummerbunds, and shoes, as well as casual and daytime fashion. Staffed by volunteers who are passionate about fashion, Oxfam Originals have built a solid reputation on the high street. "Our regular customers know this is the place to come for something unique. And the word is spreading fast," says shop manager,
Zara Fakhry-Daryan. "We get deliveries every week, so it's always fresh and exciting, and we make sure we only put the best things out."
Oxfam Originals volunteers recently organised a photoshoot to promote the clothing range, with artistic assistance kindly donated by photographer, Jonathan David Smyth, make-up artist, Katy Brody, and stylist, Lauren Reyhani. The models were all volunteers from the shop. Fern Hudson really enjoyed the experience, "We had such a fun day! The photos are fantastic and, best of all, we're raising funds for a great cause." Oxfam Originals are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join their team - application forms can be picked up in store. Donations of clothing,
shoes and accessories are also always gratefully received. So, if you like your fashion with an edge, Oxfam Originals is where it's at this summer. Ethical, green and exclusive, you can strut your stuff with pride.
P.S. If you are in Chorlton Manchester this weekend, don't forget to stop by the Fleasy Street fair, it has a great selection of clothes, food and music and most importantly Oxfam Originals has a pop up store - so come find us! :)
