A plain t-shirt is a brilliant blank canvas and can be easily spruced up for Summer.
Today I will be mainly be using buttons, heart buttons to be precise but you can use any buttons that tickle your fancy.

YOU WILL NEED

A plain t-shirt
Tape measure
Buttons
Cotton
Needles
Chalk
Scissors (optional)

STEP ONE
Decide on the design for your t-shirt. I have chosen a triangular design around the neckline. Firstly, measure and mark 3 inches from either side of the neckline. Measure the width of the t-shirt and half it and mark the middle point with chalk as far up or down as you would like the triangle design to go.

STEP TWO

Use the tape measure to join all these points up so you have a chalked triangle.

STEP THREE

Take your buttons and lay them out in the position you'd like, along the chalked lines.
When you're happy with the position of the buttons, add a chalk mark in the position of the button. I have left roughly 2 inch gaps between the buttons.

STEP FOUR

Now you have the position of the buttons chalked onto your t-shirt, begin to hand stitch your buttons in place.

You now have a beautiful buttonlove Tee!
