Do you have any old T shirts that are in need of a bit of extra life?

Here is a quick and easy way to add some gorgeous capped sleeves to your shirt.

You will need:

  • Scissors
  • An old T
  • Cotton
  • Pins
  • Fabric of choice

Step by step

Step One

Lay out the T shirt, take the material you have chosen and lay it under the sleeves.

Make sure you have enough material to cover the sleeve all the way round.

Step Two

Take the material and pin it from the inside of the top, along the seam. When you have done one side, flip the top over and pin the other side until it is pinned all the way round the seam.

Take it to the sewing machine and sew all the way around, double stitch to make sure the material is firmly in place.

Step Three

When the material is stitched in place begin to tidy it and shape the way you want it. The sleeve underneath can be removed too. I angled this sleeve by cutting from under the armpit to the top of the denim to add the cap effect. (see final photo)

Step Four

Remove the sleeve.

Step Five

You now have one delightfully denim capped sleeve T shirt!
