Love Your Clothes '12 Jumpers of Christmas' Competition!

9th Nov 2015

The Love Your Clothes '12 Jumpers of Christmas' Competition!

Research from Love Your Clothes has revealed that over ten million people in the UK are likely to buy a Christmas jumper this festive season, which is likely to cost in excess of £300 million.

So to save yourself some money, to save resources (and to support Oxfam!), why don't you upcycle a pre-loved jumper this Christmas instead of buying a new one?  To encourage you to do this, Love Your Clothes has launched a 12 Jumpers of Christmas competition.

There are three prizes on offer, including the top prize of a Janome 2200xt sewing machine.  All 12 winning entries will be featured on the Love Your Clothes website during December.

All you have to do is either decorate a jumper or cardigan you already have, or decorate a pre-loved jumper (e.g. from your local Oxfam!), so it can be worn instead of purchasing a new Christmas jumper, then send the Love Your Clothes Team a picture of the jumper at loveyourclothes@wrap.org.uk. To keep in the festive spirit, why not donate the money you have saved on a new jumper to a charity such as Oxfam?

The jumper can be for adults or children and should feature a creative Christmas theme. It needs to be washable and also designed so the decorations can be easily removed after it has been worn (so it can continue to be used after Christmas).

Further details, terms and conditions for the 12 Jumpers of Christmas competition are available at Love Your Clothes The closing date for entries is 10.00am on Monday 7 December 2015.

Need some inspiration?  Templates, tips and tutorials will be available at Love Your Clothes throughout November and December to give you great ideas on how to easily decorate your jumper. Also, why not refer to one of the Oxfam blogs that we've previously written about upcycling a Christmas jumper?

Have fun making your Christmas creations!
